Description : P1196 DODGE Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1 Slow Response
Possible causes :
– Faulty Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1
– Very lean air fuel ratio (Intake Leak)
– Very rich air fuel ratio (Injector leak or bad mass air flow sensor)
Solutions :
– Carry out a Reset via CarDiag
– Choose a better quality fuel
– Check that the tank cap is securely closed
– Check the oil level and add more if it is lower than MAX
– Restart an Automatic diagnostic via CarDiag
– If the fault persists, you can check the “Possible causes” listed above : visually inspect (by yourself (tutorials to come) or by a professional) the wiring harness and the associated connectors, check for damaged components, and look for broken, bent, pushed, or corroded connector pins.

  1. I have had a P0304 for months. Tried everything. Even replaced 2/2 O2 sensor, 2/1 sensor looked like it was replaced before awhile ago. Could be a sticky valve, causing 17% lower compression causing the cyl 4 missfire too. Someone replaced the 2/1 bank 2 upstream O2 sensor, and that fixed their P0304. Praise God if this works!!!
